so i tried what @nicolemaiines suggested but in the folder, instead of giving me a separate folder with the gif files or just listing them right there, it generated a .DOWNLOAD file ???? which i cannot read, i tried. i tried to save the page using the same method but with internet explorer (i refuse to use its new name) and same thing; with firefox it did give me the actual image files but in the clunkiest way possible and using .webp as an extension (which apparently means i only had the first frame) for most of the gifs. not sure why.

BUT

i just found a roundabout way to do it, for now. my main issue with what @uservicky suggested is that while yes i know where the gif urls are, they're hidden in tumblr's really clunky json formatting due to NPF, so it's there but it still was gonna take too long

today i stumbled on tumblr mirror sites such as tumbex, and i tried playing with that for a bit and found out that you can open the mirrored post even if tumblr has hidden it due to content rules so long as you have the post number and the post still exists. so then i tried opening that and when i downloaded it, what nicolemaiines suggested does in fact work as it should, BUT ALSO the page source is itself readable and it's formatted in an html-friendly way, meaning i can do what i originally wanted to do which is to copy-paste the html into my own tumblr post in my gif hunt dump blog so i can keep that

granted, tumblr now has an image limit per post i believe, iirc it's 30? and that means approx 10 to 20 posts per gif hunt i'm trying to save, but it's a LOT easier

so step by step (in purple what changes according to your post you wanna save):

yoink the post permalink - the one that's like tumblr.com/blogurl/bunchofnumbers/post-title

format the original url you just copied so it's tumbex.com/blogurl.tumblr/post/bunchofnumbers

go nuts i guess lol

if you go into the page source, you gotta scroll down a bit (the post technically appears in the <head></head> section but i don't know if the entire post is there or not, didn't check that closely - that's not the actual body of the webpage)

you'll find the post in what looks like the yellow square above (it's preceded by blog info about who posted it, so like their url, description, pfp, etc.) and then the actual gifs are what's in the red square

if you select the text in that red square, it's got some escape characters you wanna delete, marked in red here

and some information you don't need, so just delete everything marked in red here:

does anyone know how to download large gif hunts? there's a specific set of gif hunts that i used to use a lot and the blog that posted them seems to have been abandoned, so i'm hoping to save those gifs before it gets deleted (if it does, i hope it doesn't)

the problem is each post has 100+ gifs so downloading them one by one manually is a process and i just don't have the patience for that x10

the other problem is that the blog has been flagged as nsfw meaning i can't actually open the gif hunt in the url dot tumblr dot com page, making it functionally a dash-only blog even though i know it isn't

i've already tried to open the post in its own tab and save the webpage but it's just not giving me the gifs that way. i can access them via the inspect element console but it won't let me download them from there, which ???? i feel like it should. i can download the html-only source for the page but then i'm having a Time figuring out how to get just the gif urls from that, and then how to like actually download them instead of going one by one. this feels like there's some sort of macro that could be written or some easier way i am somehow missing

Some headcanons for a scenario that I wanna see but I literally can't find this one. If you make this into a fic, pls tag me bc I need this in my life

Hockey player Tango / Figure skater Jimmy (I know, very original)

The way they meet is actually during a time where neither are at practice. They were both kinda just at the rink at the same time, doing their own practice. Tango was skating laps backwards while Jimmy just finished one of those jumpy spins (idk what they're called tbh. It's been forever since I watched Yuri on Ice).

Both were listening to music too loud to hear the other and they collided and Tango fell on top of Jimmy (bc he was going faster so his momentum would win).

Naturally, Tango was fine. He gets checked into the wall every other day anyway, so he got up pretty quickly and then offered to help Jimmy up and make sure he's okay.

Jimmy was, in fact, fine but Tango didn't think so bc he was so flustered in front of the hot hockey player that he couldn't stand up on his skates right away so Tango thought he wasn't okay and didn't give Jimmy the choice and carried him off the ice.

After that both of them went back basically everyday to hopefully see eachother and they always skated together and watched eachothers practices.

Jimmy wanted to rush down and check on Tango everything another player would hit him or shove him into the wall and make him fall or something.

Similarly, Tango would be worried about Jimmy whenever he fell, bc Jimmy didn't always get up right away.

They were usually fine until someone shoved Tango into the wall and he fell to the ice and didn't get up right away. The game continued like normal for a few seconds until the ref realised that a player wasn't getting back up. This time Jimmy had a reason to be worried.

Turns out Tango just got a minor concussion and while Tango was kind of out of it at the hospital, Jimmy confessed bc he thought Tango was dying. Jimmy was just being dramatic bc Tango was barely conscious.

They ended up sharing a kiss after Tango said that he also loved Jimmy and he was still kind of out of it.

Alternatively, Jimmy also broke his ankle from landing on it wrong once and nobody else was there to help him up but Tango had seen Jimmy fall many times and he'd never taken this long to get back up. So Tango ran onto the ice and lovingly carried Jimmy off the ice and took off his skates and out of the building, all while glaring at all the people that Jimmy worked with bc none of them helped Jimmy when they should have.

Re-joining the tumblr scene~!

I mean you hopefully don’t know me since I’m making it a point to separate myself from my prev accounts (other than those who know me personally) but! I’ve missed the radqueer community and tumblr sooo…

Blog theme is just a theme! I don’t ID as Yanqing (if someone randomly comes along and wants my url just dm me and I’ll see what I can do). I am using it because my Doll loves Yanqing and we thought it would be cute.

I don’t know what I want for names here so just call me whatever strikes your fancy. It/Ey/Love/Fluff/Purr/Kit pronouns, please!

If it wasn’t already obvious, I’m Radqueer. Im anti harassment, pro consang, pro para, pro trans id, pro fic, etc. I would rather people who will hold my identity against me not interact, but I won’t have any strict DNI (please try to interact in good faith. If I misinterpret you, just let me know, I’m not trying to make enemies)

Feed my BG3 hunger.

I wanna know for those playing with CustomTavs that will romance someone in the game, who are they wooing? And why? How do you imagine their dynamic? In tags or reblogs are fine! I'll start;

Delight- Warlock, Tiefling, Criminal

I literally cannot unsee her romancing Astarion.

Their pasts just line up and mirror so well, as do their current situations, and while she's not outright cruel she's definitely not a Good Guy. She finds him funny and over the top, and is entertained by his poor lying but drawn in by his vulnerability. He finds her contradictory but also funny (laughing together about the walking undead husband was a sweet moment between them lmao) and is starting to find her smartass comments and teasing endearing. They don't just become good lovers, they become good friends, and they will be wonderfully morally grey and chaotic together.

Briallen- Half-Orc, Sorceror, Folk Hero

This bitch can fit so much Survivor's Guilt inside her!! I think she will really fit well with Halsin all things considered. She is, down to her core, a genuinely good person who wants to protect and help, even if she sees her heroism as a selfish act to punish herself. I can see her being drawn to Halsin's strength, confidence and wisdom and I can see him drawn to her bravery, selflessness and serenity. But hopefully he will be able to curb her extremely low sense of self-preservation and she will show him that she will accept him in his entirety with no strings. Two folks who really admire each other slowly falling head over heels for each other!

Iker- Human, Ranger, Soldier

Gale. Not just because he's a magebreaker and I love the whole enemies/rivals to lovers, but because Gale is a wonderfully complicated person and turns out Iker finds complicated hot. I can see Gale intially finding his standoffish and straight up cunty behaviour annoying/vaguely amusing at first, but become increasingly curious about the person he used to be before everything. Iker looks at Gale and they think "Fuck. He's hot. Damn mage." and becomes fascinated with the fractured man beneath the perfect veneer. Idk about Gale, but Iker is actually the devoted type and in the future won't care what he does as long as he lets them stay by his side. Unhealthy obsessions all round let's get on it cunts.

Rowan- Half-Elf, Wizard, Scholar/Sage

I am truly a bit stumped with them BUT I can see them making poor decisions and falling for Wyll. He's got secrets and they're a curious sort who naturally wants to uncover them, for good or ill. They trigger Wyll's protective instinct, as they are particularly a bit naive about the wider world beyond their studies and dig sites and he's as soon to find them crouching down in the middle of a battle protecting a suspected artifact as he is to find them completely closed off to the world with her nose in a tome. He would find their completely objective opinion about his situation surprisingly refreshing and they want to study him under a microscope (oh and he has a very nice smile they can't seem to say no to). They'll make him better, he'll make them worse lol.

Zlatan- Githyanki, Cleric, Outlander

Oh Shadowheart for sure. Not only does he find her beautiful, he's intrigued with the fact that such a kind person (objectively) worships such an evil goddess. He's always been fascinated with outlier cultures and beliefs, like the drow. She would obviously be wary of him at first, but will be pleasantly surprised by his easygoing and cheerful nature yet shocked by his daredevilry and adventurousness. When she finally lets down her guard and they get closer, I can see them having actually quite a romantic dynamic between them.

Delshad [Name WIP]- Dragonborn, Fighter, Noble

I'll be honest, I was inspired by the Panel to make a hot af dragonborn to sweep Karlach off her feet. I'm weak. He is literally Just Some Guy. He's polite, he's softspoken, he likes embroidery and he will Fuck You Up when pressed. He would find Karlach very, very cute once she trusts him with her more romantic side and he can withstand her sparky tendencies with all his scales. She would appreciate the fact that he's pretty non-conforming in terms of his status and his gender stereotype and that he's only a gentleman with her FOR her. Very sweet, very soft relationship ahoy!!

Tav [Name Undecided]- Gnome/Deep Gnome, Rogue, Urchin or Charlatan?

Now this Tav is very much a recent and underdeveloped idea, because I saw The Prettiest gnome Tav the other day and I had this image of a cute gnome lady Absolutely Down Bad for Lae'zel because she loves big strong hot mean women. I imagine a very messy, horny dynamic since this Tav despises any authority on principle and Lae'zel comes from a society very much built upon obeying authority, but I can see Lae'zel finding Tav's dedication to chaos and getting things done her way or no way quite attractive.

Oh jeez...... Guys, I did not expect my post to resonate with so many people. I was aware that the problem of people feeling excluded and mocked just for less common headcanons had to be big, but I still thought this post would stay between me and all five of my followers, hahah; I am glad that some people feel really heard here! Some are for very different reasons, too?

I ESPECIALLY want to point out this one, because it is exactly the result I've been seeing a lot:

@tsunbath I've heard similar things from (former?) Malenia fans, and also I know at least two friends for whom Maria was ruined as a character because of how toxic her fans were. You are VERY right about the fact that Malenia would've hated to be the symbol of gatekeeping and bullying in the fandoms! I feel like the same would go for Maria; there is no direct confirmation, but I doubt many people can argue that she IS compassionate soul. Like... how do those toxic fans keep making the deep, compassionate, tragic female character into THE symbol of mockery, exclusion and aggression? Beats me.

It just deeply resonates with me how actions of the bad type of fans can create aversion to a character or a ship. I've had this phase with Mariadeline ship tbh. My advice would be - avoid searching content for the character/ship, try to find a tiny pool of people that likes them but are normal and respectful about it, allow yourself to feel identified with "normal fans of the thing" pool rather than dread of identifying with toxic gatekeepers by association... Like, the ship got recovered for me this way, same as Maria's character herself. Just remember that toxic fans and normal fans are not the same entity... It is a very rare case where division is HELPFUL! Hopefully you will be able to recover Malenia for yourself and not think of those l00sers anymore.

@mycopok I know Mal, easily the best person to have ever crossed BB fandom, and nothing will ever replace her </3 I am just happy that her positive influence still lingers even after becoming way less active, like... yeah, fans just should be allowed to explore any idea they want. Maria x Laurence is SUPER interesting concept! In fact, the initial post WAS made because of someone venting that they were afraid to post their Maria x Laurence stuff out of fear of being ostracised!

@underworldsheiress Yeahhhh again, you are not the first one I hear a story like this from. I also heard takes like 'tomboys are the grossest aesthetic, either come out as a trans or get back in line' (not exagerration). It is REALLY unfair how a woman looking masculine should be either her being a butch lesbian, or... well, no longer being a woman in the end. Infighting and forcing pointless norms on each other is a huge problem with LGBT+ community, you'd expect people to gather to support each other but... people will be people I guess :/ Anyways gigachad move of you to wear what you want.

@alma-amentet I don't quite agree with your tastes on body types maybe not gonna lie; However what you pointed out (not so much in the tags, I saw what else you said heh) is a very good example of how fandoms are open spaces and everyone should feel welcomed here. Like, the girls in the fandoms will have absolutely ridiculously specific tastes regarding male characters - not liking shorter height, not liking slim build, prettifying their canonically not-so-attractive face, judging them in sexy look contests, throwing insults towards their appearance quirks at times...

But once someone tries to pull similar things with female characters - all HELL breaks loose. Double standards in the fandoms regarding genders of the characters are absurd. I even once saw someone in BB fandom whining about how someone attempted to discuss which female character was hotter with them...... after we, as a fandom, CONSTANTLY have shit like 'sexyman contest who is sexier Mico or Brador vote now from your phones!!!!'. .... Like idk if you need to hear this as well or not, but everyone should be allowed to say 'muscular women aren't my taste' for the exact same reason why everyone is allowed to say 'muscular men aren't my taste'.

@fantomette22 @rhythmloid Devotees of the Biphobic Order are the bane of every western fandom's existence at this point for real though :/ They will see a female character that wears pants and kicks ass and start shaking over her like Gollum with The One Ring, ignoring all the context, nuance, her personal story, other possibilities, etc... Like I said - feelings of real people who just try to enjoy the fandom are more important than some toxic bunch's creepy obsession with the character they want to crown as their token masculine lesbian based on stereotypes, no less. I say if they really care about masculine lesbians, they should direct their activity towards real world and real people. Because, again - fandomry is not activism.

Anyways thanks everyone for speaking, and sorry if the tagging annoyed you or something fdsjhfh I really appreciate that, and I do hope you all will be able to find your own group in the fandom that'll keep you mentally safe from the toxic fans ruining characters for you. Like a power barrier in the middle of the chaos! I know I did find mine, lol

on ao3 I always see people doing challenges... how do you join challenges?

Daaahhh okay so I haven't participated in fandom challenges in years. Back in my day we had bangs (themed collab events between writers and artists they were awesome but also led to my 18 month burn out so watch out) but I don't see those anymore :( Might be because I don't write for spn anymore? Not sure what happened there. But I do see some challenges float across my dash sometimes.

There are a lot of bingo ones. Tbh idk where those come from lol They just sort of show up? I think people just make them and some get traction and others don't. You can try searching *keyword* bingo and see what comes up but I can't help you beyond that, sorry.

Challenges pretty much always have a recurring theme and timeline and hopefully a dedicated blog where the mods post prompts, FAQs, and rules. Like the sicktember challenge is a month long hurt/comfort prompt event that takes place in September. They already have their 2023 prompt list up so you can check that out as well as the linked FAQ and how to submit if you're interested in participating in that one (or if you just want to get a feel for how these things typically work).

Each challenge kind of operates in its own way with specific rules on what they allow in story submissions so be sure to give the rules a read before you sign up, but generally you get a list of prompts and have a certain deadline to finish writing and then post it on tumblr using the specified tags, or post on AO3 and add it to the specified challenge collection, or both! Again, whatever challenge you're interested in should have all of that spelled out for you on their blog. If you're iffy on the details you should be able to submit an ask with questions.

If you've seen a challenge you want to participate in on ao3 then you can try searching for it here on tumblr and hopefully find a blog for it, or you can comment on a fic that's part of the challenge and (compliment the fic first) ask how you can get in involved and where to go to find out more information.

If all else fails you can search "writing challenge" on tumblr and wade through the results until you find something that looks interesting, but keep in mind challenges tend to be seasonal so you'll see very different results searching now as opposed to December as opposed to February etc etc.

I have a tendency to follow challenge blogs that look interesting as they pop up on my dash (even though I know I'll likely never participate, I'm just nosy 😅, I wanna know what everyone's up to). Let me take a gander through my following list and see what all I've got...

idk if people are answering ur questions but in case: no, you don’t need your own tags! you can tag posts with their relevant tags, and that’s a good way to get extra reach! (tho in my experience dtblr isn’t awesome about looking through tags, and lots of non art post are not main tagged) a lot of artists have a “my art” or equivalent tag so that people can go through just their art on their blog, and i would recommend that!

and u asked earlier about responding to comments / tags - idk what u meant specifically but here are some tips! you don’t have to follow these specially and i’m sure other people do it differently but i’ve been on tumblr for like 7 years and this is what i do :)

- its common on twitter to respond to comments on art and stuff, but for comments left in tags on tumblr there is no expectation u reply! if it’s really nice, you can send them an ask

- if it’s more of a discussion, reblogging somebody’s post and copying/screenshotting their tags is super common, or just reblogging and referencing “prev tags”

- i personally have used the reply feature like 3 times in my life but its a good way to talk with your friends! i think its more common to just send that same reply in an ask, but u can do whatever u want

- if you don’t know someone, people generally find it annoying to add stuff to posts - if you’re gonna comment, tags are preferred. but that one really subjective.

- most people hide their likes and following, and you can do that in the edit blog appearance menu! you for sure don’t need to but basically everyone does it.

- i don’t remember if it’s the default, but i would highly recommend making sure you have “best stuff first” (in dashboard settings) turned off. the only setting of those i personally have on is show timestamps. there’s a bunch of settings to personalize your experience and it’s worth going through them.

none of these are hard and fast rules so ultimately do what you want and have fun! glad you’ve joined us :)

this helps a LOT actually because i really don’t know a thing about this app and there seems to be so many unwritten rules around how to Work It, hell even the layout and timeline is a little tricky for me to navigate. so thank you anon! i appreciate it! hopefully i can blend in

the estranged childhood friends ahhhhhhhhh it's so good i'm thinking something sooomething about the reader going out of their way to help shoko out when they were kids. like they were both more like street kids (i think shoko was more quiet so she came off as more "manageable" so i think she'd find a house to stay at but the reader still had to be out and shoko felt soooooooo bad and tried to make up for it by always fixing them up whenever they fought with whoever)(but the reader never wanted shoko to feel bad they think it's just the way that it is - they're out on the street, they don't belong, don't fit in I'M CRYING) but then yeah something something the reader decides to move and learn how to be a better fighter and shoko is left behind BUT NOT FOR LONG bc now this fancy ass little white haired teenager is here tagging along a sulky dark haired boy and whooo boy she now has new friends (yay) and satoru definitely gave her a room somewhere on the first floor, kind of hidden away with her own little garden area overlooking the ocean (that's where they all hang out at)(every time sugu leans on the railing to look at the sea at some point satoru comes up and scares him a little and sugu's eyebrows always furrow and he aaaaaalways hits him on his shoulder)(and shoko pretends they're annoying but in reality she's so glad to have them)

the tumblr search function sucks ass so it p much entirely relies on ppl tagging stuff so thank u to everyone who has ever done that. i know several blogs that tag consistently and reblog a lot of art/ancestors, so i start w those depending (if i’m looking for dolorosa i’m not gonna go to the psii blog yeah). “open in new tab” will become ur bestie btw.

from those blogs you can see who they reblog a lot from so there’s hopefully a couple more ppl :) and it just keeps going kinda like that until you find urself reading someone’s 4 note ficlet from 2012

when u hit dead ends sometimes u gotta backtrack. it’s all kind of a time consuming and tedious process lol

if u find ppl who post a lot of ancestors but don’t tag/tag very little (looks away guiltily) or are deactivated or whatever, u gots to find the quiet ppl. their followers that consistently reblog. the taggers. the true heroes.

it gets even more tedious at that point bc older posts don’t show ppl’s tags in the notes :( so you filter it by other reblogs and check. every single one. to see who has tags for characters ships urls whatever. and go through those individually 👍

idk if there’s a real “secret” to it hehe but hopefully that helps?

interested to hear your perspective on this. what do YOU think makes a fic become popular in the r/s fandom. because there are many many fics and most of them go unnoticed. what do you think makes for a popular fic in general & in the r/s fandom in particular?

hi hello this got a bit long so all under the cut xxx

i’ve been thinking on this question a bit and i feel like this is kind of a tricky question to ask because it IS mainly down to chance !! but i want to make a distinction between viral fics and just generally popular ones because the first is very much down to random chance and a few other factors — these fics tend to be plot heavy + long + high drama and angst. they read more like novels i think? but most fanfiction isn’t like that (i mean i don’t personally write anything like that!!). for me meaningful engagement with my fic didn’t necessarily mean i had accrued heaps of hits but occurred rather when i had a tumblr where i was making friends + posting about my fic and posting snippets etc. and interacting with people in the comments of my fic and on tumblr. i’ve pretty slowly just gained a reader base from that and over time the fics have been read and ppl come back to read my other ones ?? i guess!!

i think it also helps to have someone read over your work just to check for grammar and spelling + plot holes etc. because those things can have people clicking off a fic for sure. also tagging thoroughly and accurately on ao3 is really helpful so people can actually find your fic. in my experience the best thing you can do is write a story you really love + enjoy writing and have fun with because that’s when you write your best and people will see that in the story and writing…. and there’s like hundreds of very similar fics (i’m thinking lie low at lupin’s etc etc) so just… write whatever don’t worry about being original or whatever.

idk i’m curious what other people have to say about this because there’s a trend that i haven’t seen as much in other fandoms for fics to become ‘viral’ through twitter and tik tok (i mean atyd is like the most read fic on ao3 right?? or one of them??) and i think it’s really skewed people’s perception of what is typical engagement with fic (which tends to be small and perhaps builds over time) and what the purpose of posting is all about. writing should be about your own enjoyment and hopefully people get some out of it too. obviously it’s hard Not to want people to read and like and comment on your work but posting with that as the main hope in mind is just gonna be pretty miserable i think!!!!

#sorry this is a bit all over i think in terms of things that are written about people love angst in this fandom and hurt/comfort #popular character headcanons change over time just vibe with what u want i think #also plenty of fics go unnoticed because there are just. a fuckload of fics these days. and there’s no algorithm and people are just #getting their recs from other people on social media rather than having a scroll #through the ship on ao3 or whatever #i think don’t underestimate having like three people ur friends with read and comment something lovely about ur fic #compared to hundreds of thousands of reads like that’s really cool to have lots of ppl read it #but when i have my mutuals comment on a fic that’s like The Best thing #or just like one message where someone goes wow that story really moved me or whatever #obviously i appreciate every way people engage but yeah!!!!#also going back to the viral thing i think readers now want fics to be like books/novels with the same beats to whatevr degree as those #stories and like hardly anyone is writing that kind of story !! so when something like that is written i think it gets very popular #but i think ppl should actually just enjoy all aspects of fic or whatever like those 10k one shots r the back bone of this society fr.. we #simply cannot forget that……#answered

Fair warning: I am not a professional I am simply someone with an interest in this topic and wishes to make this information public and easily accessible, I am human I do not know everything and am subject to error if I am wrong about something or perhaps and idea is not fully agreed upon please please please correct me

Hello everyone welcome to my library. I’m the librarian, Alexa, the main point of this library is to detail information about various political ideologies and general philosophical ideas.

Asks are open btw

The idea is to learn about different political ideologies and philosophical ideas and then detail out their beliefs and ideals, just generally what they’re all about and hopefully people can use this to possibly find this information and make an informed decision about what they believe, I also want this to hopefully act as a useful source for people who are interested in studying political ideas and general philosophy so they can more easily find information and sources, essentially I want this to act as a decent source and jumping off point for those studies

I also want to use this to share various forms of literature, essays, videos etc etc for people to use this in their research. I hope this blog can also help people to make more informed decisions about what they believe and what others (specifically politicians) actually believe especially those who are coming of voting age, in a world where different political parties and belief systems tend to hide their true beliefs and attempt to suppress information I want to give an easy place for people to find them.

Along with sharing different sources, I’m also going to provide my notes on those sources for those who may be interested as well as allow some who may be follow the specific ideas the work touches on to maybe correct or expand on my interpretations before I make a breakdown post on the specific idea (of course people are still welcome to provide corrections and expansion even once I’ve made the post I will happily make corrections, just message me or comment I want this to be as accurate as possible) I will also create discussion threads for people to share ideas, information or their interpretations about the ideas (not argue! Please do not argue with others within the comments or reblogs of my posts this is meant to be a safe space for civil discussion, disagreements and discussion are fine, fighting is not)

I am also planning to provide information about different political candidates and political parties (mostly for the US as that’s where I’m from but I hope to cover other countries)

Maybe i'm just super lazy or something but it feels like any time I try to use one of my campuses resources I have to go through a maze or jump through hoops or something. Two great examples of this is:

Trying to request help from a librarian

Trying to get help from the mental health services.

(I get kinda sappy and wierd, just warning you)

For some of my classes last semester, I had to find academic resources as well as primary material for a project. My best bet? Ask a librarian who specializes in the topic I'm covering. The thing is l: I can't just walk up to a librarian and ask for help. Not a problem, because I can schedule an appointment online, right? Maybe, if I ever find which of the hundred links will take me to that leads me to the form. Email them directly? Always get an email back saying they are out of the office. Just walk in and ask to talk to someone, ANYONE. Get an assistant librarian that tells me to look up the sources online (which I've been TRYING to do because the deadlines approaching and I need something) or even worse, directs me to the main website where somewhere, surely, a form to schedule a meeting with one of the main librarians.

Next is trying to reach out to the CAPS services on campus. Idk if this happens to anyone else, but during the day I'm doing pretty well. I have classes and school work to keep me busy and if nothing else, I can go for a walk around campus.

It's at night that I feel like shit when all of my thoughts come rushing in. Without going in to too much detail about whats making me upset, just know I don't have many people that I feel comfortable talking to. My roomate? I love her to death, but not a chance. My best friend? Why bother her more than I need to. My family? Part of my unhappy thoughts involve them. Besides, I wasn't really raised to be that expressive.

So that leads me to the free and (hopefully) confidential mental health services on campus. Every time I feel brave enough to fill out a form to get a meeting, the website says "fuck you pal." It's always temporarily unavailable. Just tonight I've figured out why. You can only fill out a form in between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm. Since I usually feel fine around those times, I never think to do it. When I wake up innthe morning I've got enough to do that I just think I was being dramatic the night before and that everything's fine.

But how many times am I just being dramatic when it's the same thoughts over and over again at least three or four times a week at night?

Idk, just venting about this made me feel a bit better. I guess this sideblog will be my diary now lol. I always feel better when I write this kind of thing down because it gets out of my head and somewhere where I can reread my emotions.

That being said, I'm going to post it with just a few tags so if on the very off chance someone sees this, I can kinda see if it's just me being silly or not.
